Instruction:

• Remove caliper from rotor.

• Remove both brake pads. If repairs are to be done off the car, hold caliper in vise.

• Inspect piston to determine which face of tool will provide best engagement.

• Engage tips of tool in holes or slots in piston.

• Turn piston while exerting inward pressure on piston. Note the movement of piston to be sure that it is retracting into the caliber. Some pistons are actuated by left-hand threads. Continue to turn the piston until it bottoms out.

• Place pads in caliper and check for 1/16" maximum clearance from rotor. A clearance greater than 1/16" may allow the adjuster to be pulled out of the piston when the service brake is applied. If clearance exceeds 1/16", engage and rotate the piston to reduce the clearance.
